Shimmerz Paints: So So Pretty!!!!

Hi Creative Friends!

Welcome back for my second Shimmerz Paints Social Team project for September!
I am so in love with the intenisty and vibrancy of the Shimmerz Paints - SO good!!!
But rather than rave, let's allow my project to do all the talking!

Here's my fun Autumn layout,

"Fall"

Oh sigh! Isn't this just divine?!!
Such a beautiful photograph of my darling daughter!
I really felt inspired by the colours in this image, so that's what my layout is designed around today!
And if we're playing with colour, what could be more perfect than using Shimmerz Paints!

You'll spy a light layer of Acri-Tonez: 3 Sheets to the Wind as my alternative to gesso. It dries really smooth, and is perfect as a primer for your paper projects!
I then sprayed a lil Spritz: Sapphire into a dish, watered it down just a tad, and then applied with both a brush and the packaging technique.
Once dry, I added a few splatters and light spritz of Shimmeringz: Goldie Lox - love the subtly of this golden delight!
Last, but by no means least, I used a star stencil and applied Paste-eez: Puttin' On The Glitz for added dimension, sparkle and interest.
Such a simple mixed media background, and yet oh-so effective!
The scrapbook collection I have featured today is American Crafts: 1Canoe2 Creekside, and I am just loving those fussy cut roses!!!

Here's a few close ups for you.....

The glitz stars are such a delicate and subtle touch!
Here's another view of them....

Really sweet!
But it's the Sapphire Spritz that's the real delight....

That blue is just STUNNING!!! And can you believe that I watered it down?!!
Imagine how intense the colour pigment is! La La LOVE this colour!!!
I think it may be replacing Jeni B Bleu as my favorite Shimmerz Paints product!
Oh, and how pretty are the Goldie Lox droplets?!

SO much awesome going on here!
I hope you liked my layout and feel inspired to try the gorgeous Shimmerz Paints!
And you know what?
Because these products are so awesome,
I created a bonus layout for you today too!
(I know, right? They're truly that fun to play with!)

For my bonus layout, I am taking a completely different approach
and discovering how delicate and soft these amazing paints can be!
Here it is.....

"SO Pretty"

Oh swooooon! Pretty indeed!
So very delicate and divine!
A very feminine and girly page for my beautiful daughter!
For this layout, I have stashbusted my left over odds and ends from Pink Paislee's Paige Evans Oh My Heart collection, and drawn on a very soft and pretty colour combination.
You'll spy that STUNNING Dazzlerz: Tutti Frutti using a Peonies mask, as well as a lil watercolour work with Creameez: Sky's The Limit!
Don't they just look dreamy together?!!
Let's take a closer look.....

You can see why this paste is called 'Dazzlerz', just look at that shine!

To keep with my soft and feminine design, I blotted the Creameez to reduce the colour intensity.
But it's that Tutti Frutti that's the show stopper!
The shimmer is truly just sensational!

Beautiful!

I do hope you like my soft and very feminine look,
with these gorgeous products!

Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Hello Awesome!

Hi Creatives!

Welcome back for my second DT project of the month with Cocoa Vanilla Studio!
Today I have an awesome You ROCK layout for you!
 I am sharing a simple,
'less is more' kind of a page,
with a real emphasis on my photograph! Hope you like it!
Here's my layout,

"Hello Awesome"

Hello Awesome, indeed! What a cutie!
For those of you who aren't familiar, my sweet boy is known as our Mister A for Awesome. So that WOOD VENEER SHAPES title is a perfect match & descriptor!

With such an adorable photo, it was important to keep it as the real focus of my scrapbook page. I've opted for a simple vertical design for my layout, centering my photograph to draw your eye in! The colours and textures are drawn from my photo too - so lots of warmth and wooden accents over my white cardstock base.

The woodgrain pattern paper, (reverse side) CV-YR008 PLUS ONE, has been rotated so that the grain follows the same direction as the tree trunk in my photo. It is then paired with the reverse sides of pattern papers, CV-YR001 STARSHINE  & CV-YR002 IN LINE
The deep blue pulls from Mr A's jumper colour, and the warm yellows play on the Autumn/Fall leaves at the base of the photo. Simple, but so effective!
Let's take a closer look.....

Starting from the top and working down the page, I have that divine woodgrain pattern as the base.  I have added a subtitle with that super cute DIE CUT EPHEMERA Limited Edition and mounted this on foam tape for extra dimension & interest.

I have positioned an ACCESSORY STICKERS tag beneath my photo, and veneer hello to break up the wooden elements and add a spot of colour. A few scattered ENAMEL SHAPES complete the top section of my design.
Travelling down, we have the second and third layer of pattern paper trim, as well as my layered photograph....

Omgoodness! This photo is truly cuteness overload! I love that I managed to capture such a natural look with the light in his eyes, and the dirt on his cheek! So super cute!
But enough of that, let's get back to the layering beneath the photo!

You'll notice that I double up on the bunting flag ACCESSORY STICKERS  to create a sense of symmetry to photo placement, so yes, it is two sheets of ACCESSORY STICKERS to create this look (but honestly, I go through two to three sheets of stickers every collection, so no drama to have an extra sheet on hand to recreate this look, right? ) ;)

Where did I get that stunning yellow striped paper I hear you ask?
Good question. Firstly, it isn't paper.
It's a DIE CUT EPHEMERA frame.
And secondly, I snipped it into half and attached each piece to the underside of my photo to create the illusion of a new pattern paper.
Such a cool trick when you're working with a distinct colour palette and need another pattern paper option!
As we approach the base of my scrapbook layout, the yellow ephemera arrows direct your attention to the second half of my WOOD VENEER SHAPES title.....

Totally awesome!
And how about that FLAIR BUTTON?!!
That crown on the top is such a cool detail for my lil man!
More scattered ENAMEL SHAPES embellish the page, and then I have a  1/2 inch paper strip of reverse side CV-YR002 IN LINE on the very bottom of the layout.
To keep with the vertical and balanced look, the paper strip is adorned with a WASHI TAPE STICKER and a finishing touch ACCESSORY STICKER Officially Amazing in the center.

And there you have it!
A clean, simple look with lots of impact!
I do hope that my layout has inspired you today!
I LOVE the You ROCK collection - it really is perfection for scrapping the boys!
Be sure to get yours here before it's all gone!

Shimmerz Paints: On A Whim with a Tropical Delight!

Hi Happy Arty Days Fans!

I am so super excited to be sharing my first 'official' Social Team layout for Shimmerz Paints!

Shimmerz Paints

With SO many gorgeous products to play with, my hardest task was deciding which paints to use!
I ended up going with a bright n fun Summer floral page - so lots of vibrant colour!
Here's what I created,

"On A Whim"

Gasp!!! Tropical paradise happening here!!!
Just look at those spectacular Shimmerz Paints!!!!
LOVE those vibrant colours, love, love, love!!!
I have used Amy Tangerine's On A Whim collection, as well as a FREE Paper Issues cut file and combined it with a number of gorgeous paints & sprays from Shimmerz Paints!
I started this gorgeous mixed media work with  AcriTonez in 3 Sheets to the Wind acrylic paint
This paint has a low sheen, matte finish & is self priming.
This makes it an excellent alternative to gesso for light to medium mixed media pages. Perfect!
My background has been created with the packaging technique with spray mists,
That intricate cut file has also been hand painted with the above mentioned Creameez colours too! So awesome!
Here's a few close ups for you.......

The hot pink foil flowers from On A Whim, coordinate beautifully with the berryliscious shimmer of Vibez Razzeldazzel Berry - surely a match made in heaven!!!
And how stunning is that painted cut file?!!
You'll spy the Good Ol' Summer Time in the center, and Just Peachie for the remainder of the petals. So pretty!!!

You'll spy Creameez Lettuce Get Together on both the cut file leaf, as well as the fussy cut one! It really adds that 'extra something' to them!
And just look at those divine background colours!

It is safe to say that I am LOVING being part of the Shimmerz Paints team!
SO much gorgeousness for all your artsy needs!

Hi Happy Arty Days Friends!

It's Sunday and at Paper Issues that means we Scraplift!!!
Yay!

Here's the fabulous layout we're lifting this week,
it's from the super talented Damaris!

Isn't it awesome?!! So fresh and fun!
I couldn't wait to lift it!

Here's my take on it...

"Grow Wild"

I had tons of fun with this!
Sometimes you just need to get out the messy stuff and play!!!
You'll spy my fave, Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Wild At Heart collection, teamed up with some gorgeous mixed media products from Shimmerz Paints.
How cool are those chipboard frames?!
& Oh, those pretty blues!!!
Here's a close up or two for you....

Cut aparts, ephemera, and a cute chippy frame = perfection!

That gorgeous background has been created with a circular mask,
Shimmerz Paints: Paste-eez: Baby Boy Blue applied with a palette knife,
as well as inky splatters and drips from Spritz: Sapphire.
So beautiful!
I just love the contrast of the wood veneer words against the blue - so striking!
And those frames really complete the look!
So cool!
Love these two & I hope they continue to grow wild for sometime yet!

Paper Issues: September Scrap Soup

Hi Creative Friends!

Welcome back for more Paper Issues awesomeness with this month's edition of

This challenge always gets me thinking and creating outside my comfort zone - love it!!!
Such a cool recipe list to work from today too!

Here's my layout...

"Wander"

I've gone all soft, delicate and oh-so pretty for my take today!
With such a gorgeous Fall photograph of my darling girl, I knew I wanted to create something that really reflected her gentle beauty. I was totally smitten with all the pink and rose hues in the new American Crafts: 1Canoe2 Creekside collection, and knew this was the perfect match!
If you look really carefully you'll spot two of my rectangles beneath my photograph, and the other one is a small figure of a leaf journal card.
For my 4 embellishments, I have used that stunning printed Binder Clip, cut files, stickers and those intricate doilies. My arrow rests over the base of my photo, and the tag is beneath it.
So much pretty going on here!
I LOVE the coordinating cut file that Stacie has created for this line,

I have used the two roses in my diagonal layered design,
and back them with the coordinating 6 x 6 Paper Pad papers.
Here's a closer look.......

Absolutely stunning! (& it was super easy to cut too!)
How divine is that Wander heart? It's from the Creekside 6 x 12 Accent Stickers pkt, so are most of the stickers you see here....

Prettiness overload!
La la love it all!
